The Burn Pit Registry

A way to document your exposure and contribute to research. It is not a claim.

What it is

The Airborne Hazards and Open Burn Pit Registry is a VA database that lets eligible veterans and service members document their exposures to burn pits and other airborne hazards during deployment and report health concerns through an online questionnaire.

Why join

What it is not

Joining the registry is not a disability claim and does not by itself start any benefit. To receive compensation, you must file a claim. See PACT Act.

Who is eligible

Eligibility includes veterans and service members who deployed to the Southwest Asia theater of operations, which includes Iraq, after August 2, 1990, and to certain other locations. Check va.gov for current details.
