Map of U.S. and NATO Bases in Iraq
Where the OIF generation lived and worked: the major bases of the war, with coordinates for each.
The map below plots the major U.S. installations used during Operation Iraqi Freedom and Operation New Dawn (2003–2011), the bases held by NATO-member coalition partners, and the staging bases in Kuwait and Qatar that every rotation passed through. Click a name in the list to fly to it on the map. All of these sites in Iraq have since closed or been transferred to the Iraqi government.

Logistics Base Seitz
Logistics Base Seitz (Log Base Seitz), later designated Contingency Operating Location (COL) Seitz, was the Army logistics hub on Baghdad's western edge, just north of the airport, that fueled and supplied much of the coalition force around the capital in 2003 and 2004. It was one of the most heavily mortared bases of the early war. Its full history, units, losses, and photographs are on the Log Base Seitz page.
Every base on this map has its own page. See US and NATO Bases.

NATO in Iraq
NATO as an alliance did not conduct combat operations in Iraq. Its contribution was the NATO Training Mission–Iraq (2004–2011), which trained Iraqi officers, including at the Iraqi Military Academy Rustamiyah in southeast Baghdad; its facilities have no published coordinates and are not pinned. Many NATO members also served in the coalition under national command. The United Kingdom led Multinational Division South-East from Basra, and Poland led Multinational Division Central-South from Babylon and later Diwaniyah. Those bases are shown in blue.
